CEUN was established by a coalition of Somali activists, educators, and peacebuilders who witnessed firsthand the devastating impacts of conflict and marginalization on vulnerable communities. Recognizing that top-down aid alone could not create lasting change, we pioneered a grassroots-up approach—working directly with clans, women’s groups, and youth leaders to design solutions rooted in local needs and cultural context.
