Our Programs

1. Education & Youth Development Program

Recognizing education as the foundation for Somalia’s future, we work to rebuild learning ecosystems in underserved regions. Our holistic approach includes constructing and rehabilitating schools in rural areas, with a special focus on creating safe, gender-inclusive spaces for girls. We train teachers in modern pedagogies while preserving culturally relevant content, and provide accelerated learning programs for out-of-school youth. Through our vocational training centers, we equip young Somalis with market-aligned skills in trades like renewable energy technology and digital literacy, creating pathways to employment.

2. Economic Empowerment & Livelihoods Program

We tackle poverty at its roots through multi-pronged economic interventions. Our flagship agricultural initiative supports smallholder farmers with climate-smart techniques, drought-resistant seeds, and access to fair markets. For urban populations, we’ve established women’s entrepreneurship hubs that provide microloans, business mentorship, and cooperative development support. A unique aspect of our work is the integration of peacebuilding with economic activities—bringing together conflicting clans through joint farming projects and shared market spaces that transform competition into collaboration.

3. Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion Program

Our conflict transformation work begins at the grassroots level, where we train community peace committees in mediation and early warning systems. We facilitate intergenerational dialogues that bridge traditional elders with youth leaders, and sponsor cultural exchange programs between neighboring regions. Our mobile peace units deploy to flashpoints, using restorative justice approaches to resolve disputes over resources or land. These efforts are complemented by radio programs that counter hate speech and promote national unity narratives in local languages.

4. Humanitarian Response & Resilience Program

When crises strike, our network of community volunteers enables rapid response to floods, droughts, and displacement. Beyond emergency aid distribution, we focus on building long-term resilience through water catchment systems, disaster preparedness training, and climate adaptation farming. Our protection teams provide specialized support for GBV survivors and unaccompanied minors, with trauma-informed care and safe shelter networks. A key innovation is our early recovery cash-for-work program that simultaneously addresses immediate needs while rehabilitating community infrastructure.

5. Governance & Rights Protection Program

We empower citizens to actively participate in shaping their communities through civic education initiatives and local governance strengthening. Our legal aid clinics assist vulnerable groups in accessing justice, while our community paralegals work to resolve cases through traditional and formal systems. We conduct rights awareness campaigns on issues ranging from gender equality to disability inclusion, and support marginalized groups in advocating for policy reforms at both regional and national levels.
